3 in 1: Snorkeling, Beach and River, all in one Day…

This excursion is available from the hotel zones of Punta Cana, Bayahibe, Dominicus as well as La Romana. The combination of Catalina, Casa de Campo and the Chavon River is a full day excursion visiting Catalina Island and the sublime Chavon River.

All Highlights in One Day!

• In the morning we will set sail for Catalina Island and reach the famous “Wall”, our first snorkeling stop.
• After docking at Playa Grande Beach, you will have the choice between relaxing on the gorgeous beach or going snorkeling in the part called "the aquarium".
• Afterwards, a large buffet will be served on the beach.
• In the afternoon will head along the coast of Casa de Campo and will end with a cruise between the breathtaking gorges of the River Chavon.

Catalina Island: Snorkeling Paradise and Stunning Beaches

In the morning we board our motor catamaran and begin our adventure. The trip, which takes about 30 minutes to our first snorkeling stop, the Wall, sometimes allows us, with a bit of luck, to observe dolphins or other marine species in the wild. During the crossing, our guide will tell you about Catalina Island, its surroundings and its origin.

As soon as our boat moors, the snorkeling adventure can begin. Our guide will always be present in the water, with and for you, while accompanying inexperienced swimmers. Here, you can marvel at a variety of different fish and corals.

Playa Grande…

We will then continue to the "Playa Grande" of Catalina, we will dock directly at the pier and you can head to the beach to find a place in the shade or in the sun. We will have the opportunity to explore more of the underwater world with our second snorkeling session, just off the cliffs of Catalina in search of rays and starfish.

We will enjoy a traditional Dominican buffet consisting of grilled chicken, pork chops, a selection of salads, potatoes, rice, pasta and fruit. Thereafter you will have the choice between exploring the beach, swimming a little more in the Caribbean Sea or browsing the small craft souvenir shops there. For adventurers interested in nature, there will be a short hike above the cliffs, organized by our guide.

A View of Lust...

In the afternoon, we will return to our motor catamaran and sail for about 30 minutes along the coast, passing the villas and port of Casa de Campo, the residential complex of the rich and famous celebrities such as Madonna, Shakira, Michael Jackson and Vin Diesel have lived there or still live there.

Navigation on the Chavon River Estuary

Just after passing Casa de Campo there will be a small detour to the Chavon River where you can observe its tropical flora and fauna. With luck, we can see vultures circling high in the sky or pelicans and frigatebirds nesting in the surrounding trees. The river gorge has been the film set for several blockbusters, including Jurassic Park and Apocalypse Now.

Around 4:00 p.m., we will return to Bayahibe and have some entertainment on board on the return trip. The staff present will be able to give you a demonstration of Bachata and Merengue, which you can join if you wish. After a last passage of 40 minutes, we will arrive back at the port of Bayahibe, where taxis and transport will already be ready to take you back to your hotels.
