Founded in 1496, Santo Domingo was the first city of the new world. It preserved from this time an exceptional patrimonial heritage that can be seen in every corner of the Colonial Zone. This is undoubtedly the most fascinating visit of the country.
We will start by visiting the Cuevas de los 3 Ojos, then head for the Faro of Colon and the Presidential Palace for a quick photo stop.
We will then go to the famous Colonial Zone where we will discover :
- The magnificient Cathedral Santa Maria de la Encarnacion, first cathedral of The Americas.
- The Calle las Damas, where you will see some of the oldest buildings of the old city.
- The National Pantheon, located in an old Jesuit Church erected between 1714 and 1745.
